Welcome to Craftercise

Our educational and sensory play resources and gyms immerse children in rich sensory play environments, empowering them to develop confidence and competence in a range of movement activities and learning opportunities.

The Creators

The creators of Craftercise, Aleisha and Amanda are both mums, qualified and experienced primary and secondary health and physical education teachers with a passion for creativity and play-based learning.

They have four university degrees between them, including a masters in health and physical education and PhD in children’s physical activity and sedentary behavior in family settings. Everything they do is underpinned by the latest international evidence in child development, best practice and a commitment to quality and safety. Becoming mums and sharing in the joy and excitement of their children experiencing messy art and craft, sensory play, movement to music and physical activity at home in conjunction with their professions, inspired the development of Craftercise.

From mid-year 2021, Aleisha and Amanda are transforming Craftercise into a new sensory adventure gym concept. Their love of creating immersive play spaces and sensory adventures will continue with this new, more sustainable format.

The mission of Craftercise is to immerse children in a sensory adventure through the provision of stimulating play/learning environments and resources, which aim to empower and inspire their creativity, play and learning.

'Craftercise - a sensory adventure’

Making sense of a growing business

Sensory Adventure

The Craftercise sensory adventure gyms are designed to provide pre-school children with a stimulating learning environment through active movement and sensory play opportunities to enhance physical, intellectual, social and emotional development.

Each session incorporates learning activities to develop physical literacy, which can be defined as moving with confidence and competence in a wide variety of activities and environments (indoors, outdoors, sand) that develop the whole person. Children who develop the competence and confidence to move are more likely to be active for life.
